A New Blog for a New Boy!

Cousin Heather's new blog adventure encouraged me to start a blog for my new adventure with baby Walden!  I'm not sure how well I'll keep up with blogging (as evidenced by past blog abandonments!), but I'd like to try to write down some of the things Walden is doing so that I can remember it when he's older.

Right now, Walden is 3 months and 1 day old!

What I love about this age:  that he smiles and coos, that he LOVES ceiling fans, that we're starting to distinguish what his different cries mean, that he still likes his black and white picture books, the way his little body feels when he falls asleep in my arms, the way he looks at trees with absolute wonder when we go on walks, and that he loves to see himself in a mirror.

What is challenging right now:  he has been scratching his face and head in his sleep (we just got some larger baby mitts, so that should help) and how it is hard for him to fall asleep unless someone walks around carrying him for a while.

Well, as if on cue, someone just woke up!  Gotta go!  :)

  1. Even if you only write one post, you'll be glad you did later on! Maybe one way to keep it up is to feel completely okay if a post is super short, or even just a photo. I know sometimes I think I don't have time, but I probably have time to write a little. I remember your dad told me this young mom wrote an entire book by locking herself in a closet for 15 minutes a day haha. I have been known to go sit in my closet. :) I love this photo! I like the size of this one too, but if you ever need it bigger, I discovered that if you click it when you're editing, a bunch of size options will come up on the bottom. I'm so not a techie so I usually tell people things like that and they just look at me and say, "I know". Okay it's my kids who say that... :)

  2. Oh that is a good tip about the photo sizes! Thanks! And also, good tip about not being afraid to post something really short. I think that's why my old blogs petered out. And there was one that I had on wordpress and I forgot my password and also the password to the linked email address - whoops! RIP old blogs!
