Cousin Heather's new blog adventure encouraged me to start a blog for my new adventure with baby Walden! I'm not sure how well I'll keep up with blogging (as evidenced by past blog abandonments!), but I'd like to try to write down some of the things Walden is doing so that I can remember it when he's older. Right now, Walden is 3 months and 1 day old! What I love about this age: that he smiles and coos, that he LOVES ceiling fans, that we're starting to distinguish what his different cries mean, that he still likes his black and white picture books, the way his little body feels when he falls asleep in my arms, the way he looks at trees with absolute wonder when we go on walks, and that he loves to see himself in a mirror. What is challenging right now: he has been scratching his face and head in his sleep (we just got some larger baby mitts, so that should help) and how it is hard for him to fall asleep unless someone walks around carrying him for a wh...
I hope that means he slept calmly throughout the night, all the way through! Mariah is in the depths of things at the moment...can you remember that time? It just keeps getting better and better.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I wish!!! Walden is fantastic in so many ways...but not in the realm of sleeping! Actually last night was the first time he slept for a little over 3 hours in his crib. That was really great because some nights he STILL wakes up every 45 min. or so. But you are so right that it just keeps getting better and better. Almost every day he takes a 1 hour nap in the morning and a 1 hour nap in the afternoon, so that is nice! I remember those days in the beginning when he didn't have any kind of schedule or consistency in his patterns - ahh! Poor Mariah! But it will get better!
