First Mother's Day!
Today was my first Mother's Day! Well, the first Mother's Day when I was a mother. I feel very lucky today that Jon and I both have wonderful moms to celebrate, and that I got to spend the day with Jon and Walden. Here are some of the highlights:
- Jon made me pancakes for breakfast! He is a fantastic pancake-chef :)
- Jon surprised me with a card ("from Walden") and lots of treats. These included a jar of Nutella, chocolates, licorice, and s'more ingredients (for camping)! He also gave me this awesome pillow-thing that is a massager and has heat that you can turn on or off. It is about the size of a notebook (but thicker), so you can put it on your back or legs or wherever. I love it!
- Later in the day, we got Starbucks drinks (yum!) and took them to MSU's campus to have a sort of picnic with Walden. We put him down on a blanket and had our drinks. Walden loves looking at trees, so we positioned ourselves right beneath two huge maples. It was a gorgeous day - sunny and about 65 degrees F.
- Jon picked up veggie sushi for us for lunch!
- I had a nap! Walden fell asleep on my lap and I had my legs up on the massager-pillow. It was super relaxing and I fell asleep for about half an hour!
- We got to talk to both of our moms on the phone!
- We had popcorn for supper! That's not really a "Mother's Day" thing, but more of a "Sunday night" thing for us :)
- Walden was asleep by 8:00pm!!! He actually just woke up for a little bit (around 9pm), but went right back to sleep after only a few minutes. What a considerate guy! :)
All in all, it was a lovely Mother's Day!

Wow that sounds like a perfect Mother's Day! I like Mother's Day because I can do all of my guilty pleasures without feeling guilty, haha
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely perfect! And yes, I ate a bunch of Nutella and ate almost all the licorice all in one day - no guilt! Mother's Day is the best! :D
