On Monday, we went to visit my dad in Cadillac. It is Morel Mushroom season, so we went out for a hike to look for them. No luck with the mushrooms but it was a gorgeous day!
Baby pack! I always wanted to try looking for Morels - so glad you can get out of the house and into nature. I think you timed Walden's birth really well! It was so cold when he was new, but as he starts moving around on his own he can actually get out in the sunshine.
Last week Wednesday, I took Wally to see the drumline perform during MSU's band camp. One of the other band directors also has a new little baby, so it was fun to have the babies meet. They liked looking at one another - like, "oh there is another little person like me!" When the drumline was performing, I had Wally in the baby carrier with his headphones on and he actually fell asleep! No offense to the drummers, haha :) Jon introduced Wally to the band and the band students all made a big deal about seeing the baby (lots of "awww"-ing). The football coach and some of the players showed up to watch the drumline too, so that was cool to see! Overall we had a great time!
Cousin Heather's new blog adventure encouraged me to start a blog for my new adventure with baby Walden! Right now, Walden is 3 months and 1 day old! What I love about this age: that he smiles and coos, that he LOVES ceiling fans, that we're starting to distinguish what his different cries mean, that he still likes his black and white picture books, the way his little body feels when he falls asleep in my arms, the way he looks at trees with absolute wonder when we go on walks, and that he loves to see himself in a mirror. What is challenging right now: he has been scratching his face and head in his sleep (we just got some larger baby mitts, so that should help) and how it is hard for him to fall asleep unless someone walks around carrying him for a wh...

ReplyDeleteWe should go mushrooming together next year! Or maybe to the Mushroom Festival in Mesick! I've always wanted to go to that, but I've never been yet.
