Ramping up for solids!

Okay, I only have a couple of minutes, so I'll try to be quick!

We are getting ready to give "solids" (purees, really) to Walden!  The pediatrician gave the "all clear" to start this coming weekend.  We are pumped!

First, we set up the booster chair in the dining room.  It is sort of like a high-chair that straps on to one of our regular chairs.  It is another great hand-me-down from some of Wally's nephews.  I'm thinking of re-painting it, but that's another story for another time!  For the past couple of days, we've put Wally in the chair for increasing amounts of time.  He seems to like it well enough.  He likes to pound on the tray, haha!

Then Jon's uncle and aunt visited us recently and gave us a gift-card to Babies R Us, which was super nice of them.  We used it to buy some baby-friendly spoons and these cool bowls that have suction cups on the bottom of them.  They stick right to the tray!  We let Wally play with those things and he seemed to think that was interesting (see pic above).

I've also been looking up baby food recipes online, which are so funny because they are all like "mash up the [one] ingredient and add water or milk to make it soupy".  Pretty easy!  Why did I have to look that up??  Haha :)

The pediatrician recommended starting with orange or yellow vegetables.  We are going to start with sweet potato!  I am excited!
