Baby goes to Tulsa!
We took Walden to Oklahoma for the first time over Spring Break. We flew, and I was super nervous about that, but it actually went pretty well. He slept the entire first flight (Detroit to St. Louis) and then ate snacks and played with stuffed animals for the entire second flight (St. Louis to Tulsa). Then on the way home, he played and watched DVDs for most of both flights, but had a little outburst of crying on the very last landing. He cried LOUDLY for about 3 minutes, but it felt like an eternity!!! We apologized to everyone around us, but everyone was nice and said they didn't mind and that it wasn't too bad.
Jon's folks live in Tulsa, which was our reason for visiting! We really enjoyed spending time with them and they organized several events for us. This is what we did:
Friday - flew to Tulsa, got stuff set up at Jon's folks' house (they were able to borrow a car seat and high-chair from people at church, and they still had a pack 'n' play from when my nieces were babies), went to the store to buy diapers and other "baby" things that we didn't want to have to pack, went to the park
Saturday - had a big family get-together with Jon's mom's side of the family, watched Michigan State (lose, boo!) and Oklahoma State (win, yeah!) play basketball on TV (separate games, haha)
Sunday - church and visiting with many church friends, out to eat for lunch
Monday - had another family get-together with Jon's dad's side of the family, went out to eat for some great Mexican food, watched "Jersey Boys" after Walden went to bed
Tuesday - had a get-together and cook-out with some of Jon's folks' friends and neighbors, packed up for home!
Ah! I can't find some of the pictures we took! I will have to edit this post later to add them! I think they're on Jon's phone...
Okay, here we go:

Working off some energy at the airport
Waiting for boarding
Napping at Grandma and Grandpa's house

Okay, here we go:
Early morning before we left: a sleepy Walden with his first plane ticket!
Window seat - yeah! I liked how Southwest let people with little kids board early (maybe all the airlines do this?)
With Grandpa, wearing his new Oklahoma State shirt (Jon's whole family went to OSU!)
Swinging at a really nice park - we loved the sunshine!
Reading his new books with his Daddy
Walden with (L to R): Uncle Wally, Jon, Uncle Norm, and Grandpa
Bottle time and snuggles with Grandma!
Sad to leave!
Waiting for our flight out of Tulsa. There was a nice empty seating area where Wally got to run off some energy. We loved our experience with Southwest! Everyone was friendly and helpful, and Walden and our luggage flew for free!
